More people prefer to read the news on the internet(japan news)

The trend is here to stay. A study conducted in japan reflects that free and constant updating changed the habits of press readers

The digital age not only changed the ways of relating between people but also their relationship with the news. This is a report from the Department of Social Studies of the BBVA Foundation, where the habits of the press readers were evaluated, and it is removed from the podium TV.

Users (surveyed in japan) prefer to inform themselves through online media, rather than through the graphic press. Mariana Szmulewicz, in charge of the study, explained that 21.2% prefer information via the network, the newspaper El Mundo, representing an increase of 6.6 points from the report of 2005.

So not included the current ten percent of people who are only informed through online news.

The reason for these preferences is not only in that they are free (28%) but because of the constant updating of information, which a paper newspaper does not get. They also mention that it is easy to find the information they are looking for (37.8%) and that they can save the news they are looking for (9.2%).

A 27% combines online editions with paper editions . This group buys a newspaper and reads the others online, only 27% of the group it combines is faithful to only one, both on paper and on the internet .

Among the reasons they give when combining their sources of information, the constant updating of news on the net (57%) is especially noteworthy . Other reasons are free to access different versions of the information (33%). It is not less than the fact that 81% of respondents did not pay or would ever pay to see news .

The printed newspaper, however, is not the main one affected by this change in behavior. 78% say that although they read more news online, they did not reduce the reading time of the printed newspaper, but 27% do see much less television for it .More people prefer to read the news on the internet
