What is Industrial Ro Plant and how does it work?

Reverse osmosis is one of the most cost effective and advanced water purification method. In this process, solvent from a high concentrated region is forced through a membrane to a low concentration region.

With the advancement in technology, Ro Plant has become the best economical method to filter boiler feed water, cooling tower makeup water and for drinking purpose.

Factors affecting efficiency of Industrial Ro Plant –

  1. Feed water source – In typical cases, feed water must be pretreated to remove contaminants that would scale and foul the membrane. Water from a source that is stable in temperature and composition normally requires a simple pretreatment process than the water from waste water source.
  2. Temperature – The rate at which water passes through a membrane varies with water temperature. Warm water will pass faster through the membrane than the cold water. Due to this, the output of Industrial Ro Water Plant will drop during winters.
  3. Pretreatment – To prevent scaling due to calcium and magnesium carbonates, water should be pretreated with a antiscalant chemical. To reduce the amount of chlorine in water, dechlorination is achieved by an activated carbon filter.
  4. Microbiological Contaminants – These contaminants are not as dangerous as scaling. These microbiological contaminants will be trapped in the membrane of a reverse osmosis system which can lead to loss of production capacity. As contaminants cannot be removed by backwashing, a biocide needs to be added in feed water to control the growth of microbiological contaminants.

Working of Industrial Ro Plant :-

Reverse osmosis system works by reversing the principle of osmosis. Naturally, the tendency of solvent with dissolved salts to flow through a membrane is from lower concentration to high concentration.

In a Ro System, a pump is used to overcome natural osmotic pressure and forced water through a semipermeable membrane. This process removes a high percent of impurities from water.

The rejected salts and impurities are passed from the system to drain. Normally, 70% of the feed water is purified.

Pearl Water is a leading Industrial Ro Plant manufacturer from Gurgaon, Haryana. We manufacture Industrial Ro Systems in the flow ranges from 500 LPH to 10000 LPH water capacity. Higher flow rates from 10000 LPH are custom-built and manufacutured as per customers requirement.
