Alcohol Addiction is the worst Situation Encountered by an Individual!

At the early age of 18, I got the charge of the farm from my mother and my elder sister, because I lost my father at the very young age of 5 because he was diagnosed with the last stage of stomach cancer, which after thorough research was the result from the chronic drinking habit as well as the alcohol use disorder. I was very nervous at the time of starting the work at the farm, dealing with the suppliers, I was also cheated upon sometimes, and the last result was I was not able to handle the stress and depression it caused to me. I was mentally sick and too affected my physical health adversely. My name is Rakesh Mishra, I am a farmer in a small town near the capital city of Mumbai, I own 20 acres of land and a poultry farm too. A few years back this was all at stake because of my Addiction Problems.

I was really nervous and to hold the tension, I started to take the help of a drink or 2 per day. Slowly and slowly this turned into an addiction and I started to drink 1 bottle a day. My family advised me to visit the De Addiction Centre in Mumbai, but I ignored them to my last and continued by the catastrophic habit of chronic drinking. I day I was not able to get up from my bed, I was readily taken to the doctor, the doctor told me that I am suffering from the first stage of stomach cancer. My mother cried and thought that I will go the same way, as my father’s fate caught him to death. The doctor explained that surgery can be performed and that I will be alright after the treatment as it’s just the onset of cancer. The surgery was performed successfully and I was discharged from the hospital. I always thought that I will go home and start drinking again, but then the crying face of my mother came in front of me. I decided not to go home from the hospital, rather took a taxi to the De Addiction Centre in Mumbai, and I promised my mother that I will return when I am fully cured. At the De Addiction Centre in Mumbai, they helped me to get out of my addiction problem and that took approximately 1 year. They gave me consultations with the expert therapists, allowed me to play various outdoor games, go to the gym, yoga, and meditation that physically exhausted me as well as build my health at a good pace. This all kept the mind of my chronic drinking habit and addiction. They also gave me injections as well as medications for my speedy recovery. They also arranged for a physiotherapist for me so that I can get help in moving my waist, after my operation of stomach cancer.

Today, the incident is a history that can be learned from, it was 5 years ago that all this happened, and today I live simple as well a sober life with my family.
