What Is Karma and How Does It Actually Work?

What is Karma?

Karmic destiny is the belief that what you do today will have an impact on your circumstances tomorrow. Simply put, karma is the "strings" you tie to your actions today. You can choose to heed or ignore them, but either way they will come to fruition. In addition to everything else that goes on in your life, having some control over the outcome of your karma is important.

What Does Karma Means?

The word karma literally means "work" or "craft." The actual term, however, refers to the underlying spiritual principle of cause and Effect, which, frequently descriptively described as the underlying principle of karma, where intention and actions of a human being are determined by previous actions and thoughts of another. This is basically what the "Law of karma" is. It is the cause and effect of every action and thought on this plane of existence, and it is quite possibly the most powerful "great law" known to the universe.

Karma in Hindu Tradition

For the Hindu people, karma is considered to be the path of destiny, which is why a number of them believe strongly in it. This is also why a number of them go to great lengths to avoid undesirable events from occurring. In fact, the idea that "bad luck will follow you everywhere" is quite common among the Hindus. This is not because they have a scientific explanation for such beliefs (though there are plenty of such theories around), but rather because they believe that all actions and thoughts are essentially consequences of previous decisions, and that there is no way to change those. This is why they strongly support karma - because according to them, if you perform an action or think an idea, it will immediately have an effect on your current karma. How Does Karma Work?

Karma can be considered to be the driving force of the universe, according to many believers. All you have to do is look around you will see evidence of karma everywhere you look. For example, did you know that if you smoke, chances are higher that a cigarette in your mouth would turn into ashes, which will then turn into wood ash and so on? Similarly, did you know that if you eat something that is poisonous, chances are high that you will become sick and may even die? In short, we see that karma literally makes things happen in our lives.

Why Karma is Important?

However, many people wonder how karma actually works, especially when they see the numerous examples surrounding it. For the most part, karma is considered to be the result of what you do and how you act upon previous decisions and deeds. For example, if someone kills a person with a car, there will be a consequence of the person getting an injury as a result of that crime. However, this does not mean that the entire crime is actually accounted for; however, this is usually the case because karma is considered to be one of the underlying elements that make up this entire law.

The Process of Karmas?

This is the reason why people claim that thoughts have some sort of control over actions and results. If you think bad thoughts, your karma will come back to haunt you. However, some people also believe that whatever actions or thoughts that you have will be imprinted into your karmic record regardless of what those thoughts are. Therefore, you can change your karma by changing the thoughts that you have.

Now, when it comes to karma and what it actually is, many people will point to several examples. For example, a lot of times you hear about how you got this specific action or this particular thought. On the other hand, you can look at the karmic deeds that you had performed in the past.

When you look back at your own history, what kind of actions did you take that influenced your present? Now, if you discover some acts or thoughts that were actually the results of those previous karmic deeds, then those deeds will definitely come back to haunt you later on in life. If you were to continue doing those actions and thoughts, you will have no problems with getting them back, unless you stop doing any and all actions and thoughts and concentrate only on the positive things that you wish for now.

Conclusion

There are also several books out there that will teach you all of the different aspects of karma. One of the most popular books is The Law of Attraction: How to Get Your Thoughts and Actions Substantially Accented by the Law of Attraction. This book really does explain all of the different aspects of karma and the way that it works.
