All about the Heroes of Kargil War - In the Kargil war, many brave soldiers had set an example of indomitable courage by defeating the enemy on 26 July 1999. Captain Raghunath Singh, a Veer Chakra winner, resident of Gharota village in Pathankot, is one such brave warrior who has hoisted the flag of bravery in the Kargil war. After the martyrdom of Captain Batra, Subedar Raghunath (now retired Captain) took over the command and crawled with his comrades and attacked Captain Batra by unfurling the tricolour on the snowy peak, killing 12 Pak soldiers including Group Commander Imtiaz Khan of the Pak Army. Captain Raghunath Singh told that on 7 July 1999, Captain Vikram Batra got the task of freeing the peak of Point 4875 of Moscow Valley from the enemy, during which he was also with him. Fighting bravely, Captain Batra got the peak free from the enemy.
