AMRITSAR (SUKHWINDERJIT SINGH BAHORU): Activism in Sikh politics is on the rise for the election of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee. Panthic organizations are worried about the election of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee and the return of the Badals to power. Seeing this, the possibility of Pato-Dhad Panthic organizations coming together on one platform to contest the Badals in the Shiromani Committee elections has increased.
For a long time now, anti-Badal Sikh organizations have been campaigning that they will not be allowed to come to power, but they have taken everyone by surprise by taking over the Delhi Committee again. If this happens here too, their hopes The water will go on again. In order to seize power in Punjab, it is imperative to get the chairmanship of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee. According to the discussion, whichever Akali Dal has a Shiromani Committee President, it is considered to be the real Shiromani Akali Dal and henceforth the appointments of Jathedars of other Takhts including Shri Akal Takht Sahib go to him.
Due to the lack of appreciation of the Sikh leadership at home and abroad as before, various extremist organizations are pursuing arbitrary politics and all the demands and issues of the Sikhs have been put on hold. Military attacks on the Sahib, destruction of the Akal Takht by artillery by the Indian Army, Sikh genocide in Delhi and other states. Apart from this, the disrespect of Guru Granth Sahib has become a challenge to the propagation of Sikhism and other burning issues.
Issues like river waters after lame Punjabi state, withdrawal of Punjabi speaking areas, capital Chandigarh, more rights to the state now, seem to have been forgotten. There is talk of anti-Sikh forces and the RSS intervening which could create problems for minorities in the future.
