An important indicator of water quality-PH value

One of the most critical indicators of water quality includes pH. The pH value ranges from 0 to 14, and is used to measure the acid-base mass concentration of water. When the pH value is 7, it is neutral, the detection value is higher than 7 is alkaline, and the detection value is lower than 7 is acid. The proper pH value depends on the quality of the water. For example, in acidic water, toxic heavy metals are easily dissolved, which is more harmful to biology. The water pH sensor can monitor the pH content in the water quality. It is a water quality monitoring instrument used to ensure the quality of water quality.

The acidic PH value of pure water exposed to the air is about 5.6, because carbon dioxide is hydrated in water to produce carbonic acid, which is hydrolyzed into hydrogen ions and bicarbonate (HCO3-); natural water is never pure, because water is one A powerful solvent. Water will dissolve part of the air or solids it comes into contact with, and some of the dissolved substances will affect the pH of the water. Bicarbonate and carbonate (CO 3 2-) are the negatively charged ions (anions) commonly used in most water. These alkaline anions originate from the dissolution of limestone and will increase the pH of the water. Therefore, for the safety of human life, the water pH sensor is a very critical water quality monitoring instrument.

The problem of high pH is common in fish fry ponds and ponds used for culturing freshwater prawns. This is because it is used as a fertilization method for preparatory pond breeding to promote the reproduction of fast-habiting phytoplankton, which can quickly absorb carbon dioxide. The bad thing is that the early life stages of fish and crustaceans are easily affected by pH toxicity, and juvenile fish are “environmentally regulated” by relocating to areas with lower pH in the pond (such as deeper waters). The ability is lower than that of older animals. For the benefit of the aquaculture industry, monitoring the pH of water quality is something that cannot be ignored.
