A Deep-dive into the Prestigious NEET PG Exam

The NEET PG Exam is the most prestigious medical exam for those completing the MBBS. Therefore, it becomes important for the candidates to have a good idea about the various factors of the exam. NEET PG Admission

In order to secure a NEET PG admission, it’s most important to meet the eligibility criteria prescribed by the National Board of Examinations (NBE). The details of the same are below: -

  1. Candidate needs to have an MBBS degree from a medical college recognized by the NMC/MCI.
  2. S/He also needs to have completed the mandatory rotational internship before applying.
  3. Candidates having a permanent medical registration certificate that’s issued by the NMC.
  4. It’s important to know that candidates from J&K are not eligible for the 50% all India quota.

NEET PG Exam 

It’s important for the candidates to understand the basics of the NEET PG exam in order to chalk out a proper strategy/study plan for the exam. Thus, some of the most important point to remember are: -

 

  • This is an 3.5-hour objective-type exam conducted in the English language.
  • There are 200 questions, with +4 for every correct and -1 for incorrect answers.
  • It covers a variety of topics including ENT, Biochemistry, all types of Surgery, Forensics, Paediatrics, General Medicine, Microbiology, Anatomy, Physiology, etc.
  • The syllabus is made according to the directions of the MCI, which is now known as the National Medical Commission (NMC).

NEET PG Counselling

This is the final part of the NEET admission process. ONly those students who have scored the cut off marks or above in the NEET PG Exam are eligible for the NEET PG Counselling.

Students are required to register themselves for the NEET PG Counselling on the official website of the NEET and likewise select the course as well as the desired stream along with the college that they prefer.

In case seats remain vacant after the NEET PG Counselling, eligible students are invited to fill it.
