UPSC SCRA stands for Union Public Service Commission Special Class Railway Apprentices. Recruitment to the railway service is the primary reason for conducting this exam. A national examination called the Special Railway Apprentice Examination (SCRA) is conducted by theUPSC to select applicants for the Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering program. Candidates who have graduated from a recognized university are also eligible to apply for this exam.

- The SRCA exam consists of 2 hours with 200 marks each
- Every wrong answer is given a negative mark.
- If the applicants are able to pass the latter examination, the interview phase will come after the written examination.
