Stainless Steel Pipes SS 347/347H Pipes & Tubes
SS 347H Pipes (UNS S34709) is marginally more resistant to corrosion than SS 304 Pipes. These SS 347H Tubes are a variation of SS 347 Tubes with a larger carbon content to improve high-temperature strength. Stainless steel 347H Pipes
Chemical Composition of 347/347H Pipes/Tubes
Stainless Steel 347/347H Pipes has a chemical Composition of Carbon (0.08), manganese (2.00), Phosphorus (0.045), Sulfur(0.03), Silicon(0.75), Chromium(17.00-19.00) and Nickel(9.00-13.00)
Features of 347/347H Stainless Steel Pipes/Tubes
High-temperature resistance is excellent.
Alloy 321 has similar corrosion resistance and protection.
When annealing is not practicable, this is used for heavy welded equipment.
The oxidation resistance of this stainless steel is comparable to that of most other austenitic stainless steel.
The higher the carbon content, the better the high-temperature creep capabilities.
Heat Treatment of 347/347H Pipes & Tubes
Alloys 347/H Pipes can be annealed at temperatures ranging from 1800 to 2000°F (928 to 1093°C). While the major goal of annealing is to create softness and ductility, stress relief annealing between 800 and 1500°F (427 to 816°C) can be done without fear of intergranular corrosion. SS 347H Tubes were designed for increased creep resistance and strength at temperatures above 1000 degrees Fahrenheit (537 Degree C).
Application For 347H Stainless Steel Pipes
347H stainless steel pipe is used in applications that require corrosion resistance and long-term operation at temperatures ranging from 800°F to 1500°F (427°C to 816°C). It's also a better choice for big welded things that can't be re-annealed.
