Online Flight Booking Impact Domestic Air Travel Demand by 14.8 Per Cent

India's economy is one of the world's fastest-growing, thanks to the country's thriving commercial and service sectors. As a result, the travel and tourism industry is expanding rapidly, as people are required to go from one location to another in order to meet business demands. Furthermore, people's lifestyles are changing in this country, and travel is becoming increasingly vital. According to a recent International Air Transport Association (IATA) survey, India has the largest demand for domestic flight tickets in the world.

According to an IATA report

The entire global demand in February was around 6.2 percent, which was similar to the previous month. On the other hand, demand in India alone increased by 14.8 percent, more than double that of the rest of the world. cheap flight booking offered by carriers also played a big effect on the figures, according to the research. In terms of international demand, the global growth rate was 5.3 percent, and India followed suit. According to the research, Asian countries had the fastest growth rate. China was marginally ahead of India and Brazil, which profited from the Lunar New Year, a popular celebration in the country.

According to the survey, due to changes in the market environment, demand in India began to rise in the latter few months of 2014. The cost of aviation turbine fuel (ATF) has decreased, lowering overall operating costs. This allowed carriers to offer discounts, deals, and schemes, which drew in a large number of passengers. The trend persisted in 2015, resulting in these figures. Because the months of March and September are considered lean, airlines offer enticing bargains on inexpensive flight tickets. IndiGo, Vistara, Jet Airways, and GoAir, for example, have revealed their unique on both immediate and advance booking. As a result, demand will remain high as travellers are drawn to such deals. It has a dual purpose: on the one hand, it allows travellers to have a more affordable journey, and on the other hand, it allows airlines to keep their flight schedules full. Due to the cheap fares, it is projected that demand in India will stay fairly stable.

Gaining Access to International Routes

India was not just ahead in demand for internal destinations such as Pune, Chennai, Jaipur, Lucknow, Delhi, or Mumbai flights, but also for international travel. On domestic routes, the aggregate global seat factor stayed unchanged at 80.4 percent, but increased by 0.7 percent on international flights. Furthermore, domestic capacity increased by 5.3 percent, while international capacity increased by 5.7 percent.

IATA's Director General and Chief Executive Officer stated that the Lunar New Year celebrations had an impact on these in the Asia-Pacific region, resulting in these impressive figures. According to IATA traffic data, on average, nine million people fly on 100,000 aircraft per day. Domestic travel is also very popular in many nations, and with such strong demand, India could become one of them in the near future.

As a result of all of these variables, the impact of cheap flight booking on the country's air travel demand may be seen.
