From Where to Order Pastries for a Party?

Getting ready for a party and wondering where to get pastries for it?

Fortunately, our options have already branched out from making pastries ourselves and going out to buy some. Nowadays, you can actually get pastries delivered to your doorstep from a tonne of shops.

Of course, the question of where to get the best pastry delivery in Singapore still depends on some variables, such as what your budget is, what sorts of pastries you want, and so on.

Still, we’ll try to go over your top options for different types of pastry delivery here. Let’s start with a place where local flavours are baked into classic goodies.

Old Seng Choong

Old Seng Choong is the type of bakery you go to when you want familiarity and warmth in your pastries. Its offerings are best described as classic comfort food, with pastries such as quiche Lorraine and apple pie regularly available.

This isn’t to say that Old Seng Choong’s baked goods are boring. In fact, as we said earlier, a fair number are inspired by Singaporean flavours.

Think of pandan chiffon cakes, for instance, and coconut and blue pea cakes. Or biscuits with flavours like Goreng Pisang, Laksa, Gula Melaka, and even Nonya takes like Hae Bee Hiam and Kueh Kosui.

If you want to give them a try, you can get free delivery with orders worth at least $80.

Tiong Bahru Bakery

If your idea of pastry for a party is more like classic European, flaky goodies that may not reinvent the wheel but remind us why we love pastries in the first place, here’s the answer.

Tiong Bahru Bakery does some of the best traditional pastries in Singapore. From their kouign amanns to their croissants, there’s a lot to crave - and luckily for us, they deliver island-wide now.

We suggest going for the boxes and bundles when ordering pastries for parties here. They offer a 10-piece box of croissants on their website, for example, as well as Viennoiserie and kouign amann boxes.

Lola’s Cafe

Most people know Lola’s as a great place to hang out or have brunch, of course, but did you know that they deliver pastries in Singapore too?

In fact, if you’re specifically looking for tarts, it’s hard to beat Lola’s. They usually have several winners on the menu.

Right now, there’s the classic Lemon Meringue Tart, for instance. If you want something more exciting with a Japanese twist, you can get the Black Sesame Tart instead (it also has white chocolate and matcha, in case you think all you’ll get is sesame flavour).

For a darker option that has even more depth to the flavours, order their Seasalt Chocolate Tart. It’s better for those who want a bit of bitterness in their desserts, as it has a dark chocolate ganache, Baileys, espresso.. and of course, sea salt.

On the other hand, those who want brightness in their desserts should probably order the Sakura Yuzu Meringue Tart. You get fresh yuzu curd paired with white chocolate ganache, toasted meringue, and salted and pickled sakura flowers.

Le Matin Pâtisserie

This one’s a bit tricky, because they presell their pastry boxes, which means you may well find it difficult to get some delivered to your home for a party unless you plan far in advance.

That being said, it really does offer some of the best pastry delivery in Singapore if you can manage it.

Due to the way the bakery works, though, we advise reserving boxes even before the month of the party you’re planning - and only using this option for smaller, more intimate gatherings. They don’t really do bulk orders.

Anyway, the chef here has earned his stripes, with a pretty impressive record working with Rene Redzepi (yes, of Noma fame), Christopher ThĂ© (Black Star Pastry), Adriano Zumbo, and more.

As such, it’s unsurprising to see how inventive and original his pastries - he makes new ones every month for his delivery boxes - get. That’s why we think they’re worth trying to arrange for an intimate party.

Pantler

Pantler is one of the most beloved bakeries in Singapore, and luckily for us, they deliver pastries! At the moment, they charge only $15 for delivery to all locations, as far as we can tell.

One of the best things about Pantler is that they’re always coming up with new creations based on the latest fruit to hit the markets. There’s high seasonality in their offerings, which assures you of both variety and freshness when buying goodies.

So what sorts of pastries do they offer? Well, what don’t they offer, more like! Pantler will deliver everything from mille-feuilles to choux à la crème!
