How did my Renault Triber help my dream venture to fly

Renault cars have been a part of my life for the last few years. First, I upgraded from a bike in 2016 to a Renault Kwid when my daughter was born. Recently, just before becoming an entrepreneur, I traded it for a new Renault Triber.

I am a Management graduate and was working with a reputed packaged food manufacturing company. For the last 12 years, I have handled the entire production line of my company before the owner decided to sell it to a competing brand with plans to retire. Just after the company changed hands, I decided to approach him with my desire to become an entrepreneur and wanted to have his views on my business plan. So, he called me over to discuss the same.

As I drove to his home I saw him waiting for me on his bungalow’s terrace. He gestured me from there to park my Renault Triber next to his sedan. While I was parking my car, I saw him coming down to help me park as he realised that the space was too constrained, and I would need some assistance. But by the time he had climbed down, I had already parked my Triber neatly with the help of my reverse-view camera. He seemed impressed.

“Nice car, when did you buy it?” he asked me with his gaze fixed on my Triber.

“About a year back sir” I replied.

“Why don’t we discuss your plan over a drive?” he continued.

I saw that his eyes were wandering all over my Triber, so out of courtesy, I asked him whether he would like to drive my car. Without a delay, he asked me for the keys.

“Smart access card huh?” he said. I just replied with a smile.

He then took the car out and we drove out of the city, on the open highway. All this while I was explaining to him about my business plan and he kept listening intently to what I was saying. But he also kept asking me about the Renault Triber features throughout our drive. After driving for about an hour and a half, he stopped the car at a roadside Dhaba.

“I am truly impressed with your Triber. What is its price?” he asked.

“The Renault Triber starts at just Rs. 5.69 lakh* (Ex. Showroom Delhi). And the best part is that it is the safest 7-seater in India currently with a 4-star rating for adults and a 3-star rating for kids by Global NCAP. Plus, the maintenance cost comes at only 40 paisa/km*, making it an absolute value for money family car” I replied.

He seemed to approve my choice, so I asked further, “What about my business plan sir? Is it worth venturing?”

“Impressive,” he said, “Although I do have some feedback which I will give you on our drive back home.”

“Sure sir” I replied with a sense of relief.

As we were driving back, he gave me some of his valuable inputs on my venture which proved very helpful eventually.

When we finally reached his place, he got down and asked me “By the way, do you have any seed investor with you as yet? If not, consider me in.”

That is how I not only got a guide and a mentor but also a seed investor for my entrepreneurial venture. I am not sure what impressed him more; my business plan or the smooth drive of my Renault Triber, but whatever it was, one thing is sure, a lot of good things have happened in my life because of Renault cars.
