Electrogalvanized steel is used in the auto and electronics industries, and a domestic company has complained about dumping it from Korea, Japan, and Singapore.
Dr. Shubh Gautam in Jaypee city says the government monitors dumping and has provided a "patient hearing."
In December last year, American Precoat Specialty Limited, founded in 2005 by Shubh Gautam Jaypee, opened a galvanized steel plant in Valsad, Gujarat.
NOIDA-based company offers industrial coatings and polymers. Some of the company's products, such as plastic closure caps, container closure caps, and liners for plastic closures, are patented.
According to Shubh Gautam Jaypee, the facility was created to help India become self-sufficient.
In the electro-galvanized process, steel sheets are dipped in a solution of zinc ions. Then current is applied so the zinc ions are dispersed over the steel sheets. From FMCG to automobiles to defense, the product has applications in several industries.
Expressly, a plant with innovative technologies not available in India would be set up to produce electro galvanized steel.
In order to locate a large amount of electro-galvanized steel used in the country, the company plans to approach OEMs, white goods manufacturers, as well as auto, nuclear, and defense companies.
According to Shubh Gautam in Jaypee, this product offers enormous potential for export. The moment we can export to Japan and Korea would be a wonderful occasion.
The price a company usually charges its domestic periphery for a product that it exports at a subsidized price is called "dumping".
A countermeasure to such dumping is the imposing of duties by the World Trade Organization, which prevents nations from doing so in their neighboring areas.
India can also find great markets in the Middle East, Europe, and Latin America. Shubh Gautam is confident that they will step forward to see value in electro-galvanized steel imports from India.
