Image quality can be fickle at high ISO
The Nikon Z7's 40.4MP sensor is not the first thing you'll notice about this camera, with Nikon's signature design delivering some of the most beautiful cameras on the market. There's also an excellent 153-point AF system that should tackle the most difficult shooting situations. It may be missing a few features compared to its predecessor, but there's still plenty to love here.

8. Panasonic Lumix GH5S
Panasonic's superzoom is a brilliant all-rounder
Sensor: 20.3MP | Megapixels: 20.3MP | Autofocus: 171-point AF, 99 cross-type | Screen type: 3.2-inch tilting touchscreen, 1,620,000 dots | Maximum continuous shooting speed: 10fps | Movies: 4K | User level: Intermediate
Amazing performance
Excellent 4K video
Control layout could be better
LCD could be better
The Panasonic Lumix GH5 was one of our favourite cameras of 2017. It really surprised us with its performance and the introduction of 4K video at up to 60fps. The GH5S has been upgraded to include a new control layout and much faster performance, which is a fantastic result.
