College life is all about being independent, but you might find it challenging to make your own fun when you're in a dorm. It's easy for parties to develop into a routine of playing drinking games and doing keg stands, which doesn't leave room for anything else. Unless you want to feel like everyone thinks the same as they do, it's important to be creative at college dorm parties. On a dorm floor, the more things that are different and unique about your party, the more people will want to visit. College dorms can be very small and intimate for parties because of this. Here are some college party ideas that you need to have for each college dorm room party.
Board Games:
This is by far the most important thing on this list. Nothing makes a gathering of friends more passionate than a heated debate over who would win in a fight between Batman or Superman. Since no one is in charge here, the participants should decide beforehand who will be Batman and who will be Superman. If you don't know what happens in the movie? Let it go because people are not going to remember that movie anyway. The winner of each fight is allowed to make an argument as to why he or she should win. Until a winner is declared, all rules should be respected, including not letting anyone eat snacks until a winner is declared. This is a great game for both parties and limits, but you can't play it unless you have plenty of snacks, so don't forget to get them.
Guitar Hero:
This is also a great game to play, although there's no board. Basically, everyone brings their own guitar and controllers and plays. You can also have some people on the sidelines who aren't playing but who are there to cheer on players or throw insults at those who don't do well. This is just like playing any other video game. If you have the means to play it, put this on the dorm party list.
Truth or Dare:
This is another classic that can be played in college. However, you should make sure that people are ready for some very random dares and truths. For example, someone could be asked to strip down to their underwear and dance around a candle while others put a blindfold on them and force them to go around the dorm room touching everything.
Notecards:
Notecards are a great way for you to make your college dorm room parties more interesting. You can play them by yourself, with a group of friends, or as a game. Notecards can be played in many ways, but the most common is when you write something on someone's notecard and they have to take it back to their dorm room. They have to then make their best guess as to who it is that wrote the note and why they wrote it. The person who guesses correctly gets to keep the card, while the other person loses it. If you don't have a lot of money to buy notecards, you can make your own with scrap paper and pens. If you have no idea how to get started making them, just Google "how to make a notecard" and start doing it. The most important thing is that everyone has fun doing them and that they're easy enough for anyone to do.
Foot-Locker:
A really cool thing to do for any party, especially for a college dorm party. Bring some sneakers and a bunch of random shoes and other items to put on them and have everyone stand in a line. Everyone who comes in the door is required to attempt to run around the room for the longest time without their shoes coming off before getting out of the room. This is surprisingly very popular at freshman parties, and it's very hilarious when someone stumbles around without their shoes. Also, it allows for a lot of laughs and a lot of good times.
