Chemical-based products used in farming are known as agrochemicals. These are used to boost crop yield and have been used in a number of different forms for a long period of time. With modern times and innovations, more effective agrochemicals have been created by agro products suppliers, and are used in the agriculture industry. With a better crop yield rate, agrochemicals allow farms to produce more food to supply the global population. Some of these agrochemicals and their uses are as follows:
Pesticides
Insects and animals pose a great risk to the crops. If they are draw to the crops, they could majorly deplete the supply. Pesticides protect the crops by incapacitating, warding off or by killing invasive species.
The use of pesticides is not limited to only boosting crop yield. A number of pests that are drawn to the crop carry diseases with them. Before pesticides were used globally, many people contracted illness by eating plants which had been infected by these pests. With the increase of pesticides, the threat is much smaller now.
Insecticides
Insecticides are essentially the same as pesticides. The only major difference between these two is that pesticides target a broader category of different types of pests, while insecticides only target insects specifically. However, this does not mean that they are not useful.
