Glassware Packing and Storage

Are you preparing to relocate? Or perhaps you've just had a purge and want to store some of your crockery and glassware that you don't use very often. We've compiled some of the best packings and storing glassware tips to help you be super organized.

There are many things to remember when moving, but one of the most important is packing and storing glassware and crockery. The most important thing to avoid is last-minute packing, as you will almost certainly forget half of your belongings. Consider what you can pack ahead of time and begin clearing out your closet, shelves, and cupboards of anything you don't frequently use.

Glassware Packing and Storage Tips

Wrap each piece separately with care. Even teapot lids should wrap separately to prevent anything from scratching or knocking together during transportation.

Fill in hollow areas with paper (such as the insides of bowls and glasses), then wrap the outside with a separate piece of paper if the first piece isn't large enough.

Roll the paper around the glassware for the most secure coverage.

Large pieces that cannot be entirely covered by one sheet of paper and particularly thin or fragile items should be double wrapped.

Never be afraid to use too much paper – the more you use, the better your items will be protected! Paper absorbs shock as well as protects against scratches.

We recommend using only one layer of items per box but put the heaviest items (such as mugs) on the bottom if you must use multiple layers.

Mark your boxes clearly as FRAGILE so that movers know to be extra cautious with them.

Conclusion:

Remember that the better you pack things at the start, the easier it will be to unpack later at self-storage. Packing and storing glassware should not be rushed as this could result in an expensive move. Take your time and ensure that everything is properly wrapped, packed, and stacked.
