What Is Emaar MGF?: Founded by Shravan Gupta, his son Rahul Gupta, and their friend Ajay Piramal in 1989, Emaar MGF is one of India’s most prominent real estate developers. The company develops both residential and commercial properties across several Indian cities including Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Pune. Their projects include malls, hotels, IT parks, and SEZs. How Did Emaar MGF Begin? After working for over two decades with Oberoi Realty (now Oberoi Constructions), an established real estate developer in India, Shravan Gupta decided to start his firm with his son Rahul and their friend Ajay Piramal. In 1989 they launched Emaar MGF to develop commercial property in Gurgaon under a joint venture with Dubai-based conglomerate Meraas Holding LLC. Since then, Emaar MGF has grown into one of India’s largest real estate development firms with a presence in four major cities. What Are Some Projects That Emaar MGF Has Undertaken? One of its first projects was developing a mall called Metropolis Mall in Gurgaon that opened in 1998. It soon started developing other retail spaces including Galleria Market Centre and South Point Mall.
