Make Old Age Easy

India will have the second-largest global population of senior citizens, and most will live in poverty. It’s not unusual to see an old citizen begging at a traffic light or outside a temple. Instead, many are discovered in terrible conditions with nowhere else to turn.

According to the survey, India has over 3 million old homeless people, with 93 percent of the elderly working in the unorganized sector and receiving no post-retirement benefits.

Ignorance of old people

The need for a senior citizens’ NGO in our country has grown because of the rising mistreatment and suffering that older people face after becoming incapable and powerless. Everyone should also help older people on a personal level. An individual’s physical and mental health worsens as they get older.

They are unfamiliar with knowledge about the diseases that affect their physical and mental health since they are not served with vital healthcare needs. Many of these seniors suffer from mental illnesses, the most frequent of which are dementia and depression.

Many also suffer from anxiety disorders, and a few choose to commit suicide by self-harm. Another issue older people face is substance misuse, frequently missed or misdiagnosed. Even though many of us know that aging is a natural process with its setbacks, most of us choose to disregard this and take an undisciplined approach.

Making Old Age Easy

While some research has found that anxiety rises with age, others emphasize the importance of physical and mental care as people age. You can take the required actions to improve the emotional and mental well-being of the elderly who need care.

People’s psyches, physical strength, and behavioral patterns change as they age, and they might become highly unstable. However, most people should help the old people as they require extra care and support at this stage of life. It is unquestionably our job to assist them in acquiring such benefits.

NGOs assist the elderly and senior citizens who spend their lives outside of the benefits they are entitled to due to the sacrifices they have made in the past for their offspring. They assist the elderly by providing nutritious and high-quality food, healthcare, and medical facilities to ensure increased longevity, clothing to wear and safeguard their bodies, a place to live free of stress or fear of venomous remarks or negative health by the younger generation, and other life-sustaining factors.

Sharing The Pain

We should help the elderly as they have spent their lifetime working and growing families. The least they deserve is peace in their last days of life. Their children and lives often abandon them at the mercy of their children. We should help the old in every way possible.

Doing good is good for you.

If you want to join an NGO and help the old, https://www.savethechildren.in/ is the right place to do so.
