The Beginning
Tamica Goree has been coaching basketball for most of her life. She started out as a player, then became a high school head coach. Her mission is to instill confidence in her players through education and empowerment. By instilling these values in her players, she hopes to fulfill their dreams of becoming successful basketball players. I’ve been around the game my whole life. It’s something I love to do, says Goree. I’m so fortunate that I get paid to do what I love!

As a young girl, Tamica Goree dreamed of becoming a professional basketball player. Though she fell just short of that goal, she’s spent her entire life since then empowering others to reach their full potential on and off the court. Transitioning From Playing to Coaching
As a former professional basketball player, Tamica Goree knows a thing or two about the game. She's also no stranger to coaching, having spent years as a head coach at the high school level. Recently, she made the transition from player to coach full-time and is loving every minute of it. I love being able to teach the game I love to others, she says. It's so rewarding to see my players grow and improve. Some have gone on to play in college while others are excelling in their everyday lives because they learned how to work together and communicate with teammates. What I'm most proud of is how much they've grown into confident young women.
