Most of the students are confused about making a decision between these two courses. Let’s try to understand the similarities and differences among these courses based on certain points.

Meaning

Master of Science and Master of Technology are both different courses. Though the subjects that are a part of the curriculum might be in little similar the focus of these courses is completely different. At most of the best CSE colleges in Karnataka, MTech and MSc courses are offered. However, the MTech courses are focused more on technical know-how, whereas MSc courses focus on concepts and theories.

Specializations

Talking about specializations there can be similarities in the streams of specialization but they cannot be the same. For example, there are M Tech courses in Computer Science and Engineering and MSc in Computer Science courses. Similarly, most of the specialization of the MTech courses focuses on engineering concepts. On the other hand, the MSc specialization is more about science and its subjects.

Eligibility Criteria

Scope of pursuing MSc and MTech

MSc and MTech are both courses demanded in the job market. The main aim behind doing a Master's degree is to get advanced knowledge that will help in getting better job opportunities. The jobs after MTech are more technical and MSc are more analytical.

From the above points, we can say that both the courses are somewhat similar in nature. Both eligibility and career scope is more or less equivalent. However, the major point of difference is in the curriculum offered at the best CSE colleges in Karnataka. If you are more focused on technical knowledge you can enroll in MTech courses and if you are interested in theory then MSc can be your savior.
