· Bus No. 77 from the airport to the city is the cheapest and fastest way to get around. For those staying in the West End, the 77 is a great option since it doesn't make any stops.
· Even if it is difficult, make an effort to get familiar with public transportation. In addition to Scotrail, the world's third-oldest subway, and a slew of bus companies, the city has a network of public transportation options. They all charge a different amount for single fares, thus you can't usually use the same ticket on two separate services.
· Bus drivers may not always give you change if you don't have the correct amount of money. Better to be cautious than sorry.
· I use Google Maps to go around the public transportation system in Glasgow. A timetable's accuracy is typically quite good.
· Rent a city bike to get some exercise while you're here! You may already have the app you need for your journey since Glasgow is part of the next bike system.
· But if you stick to the city center, Merchant City, and the West End, you can go about much of Glasgow on foot. To get you started, here's a two-day plan you may use.
· Taxis are more expensive, while private hires are more affordable. These cabs cannot be hailed on the street but must be pre-booked. It's possible to save a lot of money by waiting a little longer during busy hours! Calling a cab may even be more cost-effective than using public transportation if you're traveling in a group.
