Clean your blender thoroughly

Clean your blender thoroughly

Unplug the Blender.

Because a blender is powered by electricity, it must be unplugged before cleaning. Furthermore, the base, which houses all of the electrical components, should never be submerged in water. Spills should be cleaned up with a damp cloth, sponge, or wipe.

Cleaning the blender's jar

You should clean your jar as soon as possible after each use. Allowing food to sit for an extended period of time makes removing it from the blades more difficult.

It may also cause them to rust over time. Cleaning it, on the other hand, is a relatively simple procedure. Rinse the container thoroughly to remove any remaining debris.

Fill it halfway with lukewarm water and add a drop of dish detergent. Blend the water and soap for about a minute on low speed. Thoroughly rinse with water.

Add a squeeze of lemon to your soap and water mixture to remove stubborn stains. You can also scrub the sides with half a lemon to remove stains.

Cleaning the Blades

Typically, the blades will clean themselves during the preceding steps, but extra food may become stuck beneath the edges, which can be difficult to reach.

If this happens, half-fill your blender with warm water and soap. This time, however, add a tablespoon of vinegar and leave it alone overnight.

Add more hot water and blend after the mixture has sat overnight. Any remaining residue should wash away, but an oxygen cleaner (Oxiclean) can be used to remove more stubborn debris.

Routine Maintenance

If you use your blender frequently, it should be serviced on a monthly basis. You will need to disassemble the machine in this case.

Make certain that all gaskets, blades, and other components have been removed. Hand-wash in warm water with liquid dish soap.

Check that all components (especially the gaskets) are completely dry before reassembling the machine.

Corroded Blades

If you notice your blender's blades are rusting, this does not always indicate that you need to buy a new blender. However, the rust must be removed. First, remove the blades. You'll also want to make a baking soda paste with water. Clean the blade first, then apply the paste with a toothbrush to the edge. Then, using steel wool, buff the paste in to remove any remaining rust. Rinse and pat dry with running water.

Please keep in mind that this method is only effective on blades with a minor amount of rust on them. If you are unable to completely remove all particles, stop using the blender.
