

Immigration Physicals - What Is It?
The USCIS (United States Citizenship and Immigration Services) requires you to get a complete health check when you apply for permanent U.S residency.
At Metro Urgent Care, we have civil surgeons authorized and designated by the Department of Homeland Security and USCIS to perform the immigration physical exam. We will conduct the exam following the needed guidelines and regulations stipulated by the government.
What You Should Bring to Your Exam
The following documents are required for your immigration medical exam:
- A current, government-issued ID like a passport or driver's license
- Medical records, including past vaccination details, mental health history, and proof of previous treatment for TB or any other contagious diseases
- An immigration physical form I-693 if pre-completed
What to Expect During Your Visit
An immigration physical exam at Metro Urgent Care includes:
Physical Exam by Civil Surgeon
During the physical exam, our certified civil surgeon will examine your eyes, head, ears, heart, extremities, lungs, abdomen, throat, nose, and lymph nodes to look for any current or previous illnesses or symptoms of any infectious diseases.
They will ask you about any previous surgeries you have undergone. Your vitals, including respiration, blood pressure, pulse, height, weight, and temperature, will also be measured.We will review your vaccination history to ensure you have received all necessary vaccinations to clear the immigration physicals. The required vaccinations may vary depending on the applicant's age, health condition, and previous vaccinations.
