There are Two Main Types of Middle Ear Implants: Piezoelectric and Electromagnetic

A small device connected to ossicles and placed inside the middle ear is called a middle implant ear. Devices called middle ear implants are made for people with mild to moderate sensorineural hearing loss mixed with conductive hearing loss. Middle ear implants are a cutting-edge alternative to the traditional hearing aid. People with earmould allergies, skin conditions, ear infections, collapsed or closed ear canals, etc. are advised to get a middle ear implant. It can also be used as a bone-anchored hearing aid substitute.

The middle ear implants differs from other hearing aids in that it does not need a speaker. The microphone behind the ear is used by the middle ear implant to transmit sound to the middle ear. The floating mass transducer is placed in the middle ear and receives mechanical vibrations from the microphone.

The grafting delivers the signal through the conductor link to the FMT in the middle ear. The FMT changes the signal into pulsations that directly boost the middle ear structure. The pulsations generate sound to the inner ear and to the cerebrum. Amidst people who can be advantageous from middle ear implants are people with an obstacle of the exterior or middle ear, patients who cannot for few factors use hearing devices.

People who are not advantageous from sound processing. In other situations or environments, middle ear implants may also be the correct method. It is essential to remember that middle ear implants do not reinstate hearing to original hearing such as the hearing of a person with no hearing impairment.
