To fulfill the eligibility criteria, you need to be registered as an engineering-in-training or geoscientist-in-training or a member-in-training applicant who has been given the work experience reporting option to try and have confirmatory exams waived.
Introduction to APEGS Competency-Based Assessment system:
APEGS uses an online competency-based assessment system called CBA. It is used to assess the work experience of an applicant. Apart from providing validated examples to demonstrate each of the competencies, you need to have at least four years of experience validated in the system.
How to report your work experience in the CBA system:
Follow the below-given steps for APEGS work experience reporting:
1. Reach https://competencyassessment.ca.
2. Choose the âApplicantsâ section.
3. Stick to the instructions that appear on the screen.
4. Make an account with your APEGS Registration/Application number as your User ID.
5. Select âAssociation of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewanâ as your jurisdiction.
6. An email notification will be sent to you when your account is approved. All this may take up to 5 business days. These accounts are approved manually M-F 8:00 to 5:00.
7. Reach the system by choosing âI am a registered user and would like to access the Competency Assessment Systemâ.
8. Start putting in your information adhering to the instructions appearing on the screen. At this time, your educational information doesnât appear in this system.
On the assessment of your experience, you will get the result by mail. If you do not pass it for the first time, you will have the opportunity to redo any competencies that didnât satisfy the requirements.
You should get your evaluation result within 6 to 8 weeks after the completion of all validations. If your validators are unacceptable, the authority will let you know, and the validation process will be redone.

It doesnât matter how big a project you have taken; you must not go against these environmental guidelines.APEGS Guidelines for the welfare of the environment:You must cooperate with others:Offer your 100% cooperation to other experts to recognize the impacts of the policies, designs and processes and work hard to develop solutions to lessen or eliminate such impacts.Promote compliance with sound practices related to the environment.Ask clients and employers to pay attention to the environmental change due to operations and processes and tailor systems as per the result found.Make sure that there is proper comprehensiveness and documentation to environment-related problem-solving.Communicate effectively with the government, public and clients to allow informed decision making.
Set up procedures, as needed, to ease such cooperative communication.Ensure that professional rules for health, safety and environmental rules are followed.Acknowledge your role for the welfare of the environment: Know your role in fulfilling sustainability goals and use your role for the welfare of the public and environment.Work hard to protect the environment and human health via advocating, making and using environmental protection and sustainability principles in workplaces.Promote proactive plans and understanding of those actions needed to sustain, improve and restore the environment.Share speciality and have interactions with other disciplines like engineers, chemists, biologists and the like for the improvement of environmental understanding and practices.Encouraging environmental enhancement is also your duty.Try to look for solutions that are compatible with health and environmental protection.
