

Before one becomes eligible to apply for their professional licence one needs to have four years of engineering/geoscience work experience. This experience must be evaluated by the Experience Review Committee. Eligibility criteria you need to fulfill:
To fulfill the eligibility criteria, you need to be registered as an engineering-in-training or geoscientist-in-training or a member-in-training applicant who has been given the work experience reporting option to try and have confirmatory exams waived.
Introduction to APEGS Competency-Based Assessment system:
APEGS uses an online competency-based assessment system called CBA. It is used to assess the work experience of an applicant. Apart from providing validated examples to demonstrate each of the competencies, you need to have at least four years of experience validated in the system.
How to report your work experience in the CBA system:
Follow the below-given steps for APEGS work experience reporting:
1. Reach https://competencyassessment.ca.
2. Choose the âApplicantsâ section.
3. Stick to the instructions that appear on the screen.
4. Make an account with your APEGS Registration/Application number as your User ID.
5. Select âAssociation of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewanâ as your jurisdiction.
6. An email notification will be sent to you when your account is approved. All this may take up to 5 business days. These accounts are approved manually M-F 8:00 to 5:00.
7. Reach the system by choosing âI am a registered user and would like to access the Competency Assessment Systemâ.
8. Start putting in your information adhering to the instructions appearing on the screen. At this time, your educational information doesnât appear in this system.
On the assessment of your experience, you will get the result by mail. If you do not pass it for the first time, you will have the opportunity to redo any competencies that didnât satisfy the requirements.
You should get your evaluation result within 6 to 8 weeks after the completion of all validations. If your validators are unacceptable, the authority will let you know, and the validation process will be redone.
