Are Bluetooth and WIFI Modules the Same?

Before talking about the “Wi-Fi module and Bluetooth module”, let’s talk about three concepts: one is “Wi-Fi”, the other is “Bluetooth”, and the third is “module”.

Wi-Fi

Wi-Fi is a technology that allows devices to access a wireless LAN; distributed in the 2.4G and 5G frequency bands, it essentially converts wired network signals into wireless signals, so that Wi-Fi devices within a certain range do not need to be wired Access to the network, such as a mobile phone connected to a router via Wi-Fi to access the Internet; Wi-Fi is widely used in homes, shopping malls, office areas, dining, and other places, and now it covers trains and cars. It is now the most widely used wireless Technology, Wi-Fi has the characteristics of a fast transmission rate, stable data, and no tariff; the latest Wi-Fi6 standard 802.11.ax, the highest transmission speed reaches 9.6Gbps; it can further optimize people’s Internet experience; in addition, Wi-Fi devices can also be used for short-distance wireless data transmission.

Bluetooth

Bluetooth is also a wireless technology standard. It uses the 2.4G frequency band for data transmission between short-distance Bluetooth devices. Based on Bluetooth’s low power consumption, stable data connection, and high security, Bluetooth technology is widely used in wireless wear and consumption. Electronic products, intelligent control, and other fields, such as Bluetooth headsets, Bluetooth speakers, smart door locks, etc.; Bluetooth is divided into classic Bluetooth and Bluetooth BLE.

Classic Bluetooth: Bluetooth for big data transmission; Bluetooth BLE: Bluetooth with low power consumption and small data transmission.

Module

It is a collection that can complete a certain function, and has an interface to connect to the external environment and an internal code program; the package of the module can be divided into pins and patches, and the pin testing and use are relatively convenient, and the patches are more suitable for mass production; Choose according to your own needs. After reading the introduction of Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and modules, I believe that everyone has a basic concept of Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and modules, so let’s take a closer look at our Wi-Fi modules and Bluetooth. What exactly is a module?

Although both are wireless forms of communication, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi differ in terms of their purpose, capabilities, and other factors. Bluetooth allows for short-range data transfer between devices. As an example, it is commonly employed in headsets for mobile phones, enabling hands-free phone use. On the other hand, Wi-Fi allows devices to connect to the Internet. Bluetooth limits the number of devices that can connect at any time, whereas Wi-Fi is open to more devices and users. In addition, Bluetooth, because it requires only an adapter on each connecting device, tends to be simpler to use and needs less power than Wi-Fi, although this is achieved at the expense of range and speed of data transfer, in which Wi-Fi typically exceeds Bluetooth’s capabilities.
