How Often should You Replace Your Bike’s Engine Oil?

The world of motorcycles is crazy. You will come across a variety of individuals with different streaks and yet they have the same passion and love for motorcycles. Some of them have turned their passion into profession. One of the most common questions that bug any bike owner is how often should you replace the bike oil? Generally, the frequency will depend on the kind of oil used, the number of miles covered and how often you ride the bike. Why don’t you check the user’s manual to find out all the required details? As a general rule:

  • The oil should be changed after every 2,000 to 3,000 miles or at least once every year. This is in case of mineral oil.
  • For synthetic oil you should replace it after the coverage of every 7,000 to 10,000 miles or once a year - whichever is earlier.
  • And for semi-synthetic oil, you should replace it once you reach 5,000 to 6,000 miles.

In case, you are hardly using your bike then you should replace the oil at more frequent intervals. If your bike ride is less than 30 minutes every year, you should definitely replace the oil once every three months.

You should take proper care of your bike so that you can ride it for years to come. Unless you are able to look after the bike, you should think of Choppers for sale.
