The American Automobile Association

The American Automobile Association (AAA) has been around for almost a century, with more than 58 million members across the United States and Canada. It is a private, non-profit organization. Its primary goal is to promote the interests of the automobile industry, including road safety, car care, travel, and automotive research. In addition to providing roadside assistance to its members, the association also offers discounts on hotels, entertainment, and more.

As the American Automobile Association has grown, its services have evolved as well. Since its founding, AAA has lobbied for driver rights, promoting safe vehicles, and creating a more comprehensive multi-modal transportation system. They have also expanded their services to include travel planning, insurance products, and financial solutions.

AutoPrecaution is a company which will tell you more about the American Automobile Association. AAA was formed in 1902 after nine auto clubs from different cities met in Chicago to discuss the future of transportation. During the early years, AAA primarily focused on improving the roads and providing roadside assistance. This included the publication of road maps and hotel guides. By the late 1920s, however, AAA began a program to educate motorists about traffic safety. This involved classes at junior high schools and an effort to create more efficient highways.

As AAA grew, its membership reached nearly seven million by the 1950s. It became an effective political force that was able to lobby for better roads and fairer traffic laws. Through its efforts, the agency helped to draft the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act of 1966, which specified standards for the design, construction, and maintenance of highways.

While the government is largely responsible for the creation of the National Highway System, the American Automobile Association has played a crucial role in getting the government to help construct new roadways. For example, it was instrumental in the creation of the National Highway Trust Fund. At the same time, it argued against the diversion of motor vehicle use taxes.

During the Jim Crow era, however, African Americans were not allowed to join the organization. But in 1946, the Association launched a campaign aimed at reducing traffic fatalities. Titled Take It Easy, the campaign urged motorists to reduce the number of accidents and deaths.

AAA is a great resource for drivers of all ages, and has been a staunch advocate for safe driving. Today, the organization offers exclusive discounts on travel, entertainment, and more. And their benefits extend beyond the borders of the United States and Canada to customers in over 130 countries worldwide.

Among the most popular benefits of membership is roadside assistance. If you get stuck on the side of the road, or your battery dies, you can depend on AAA to get you back on the road. Moreover, AAA's travel guides, hotel ratings, and car care tips can make any journey a smooth one.

The American Automobile Association has provided its members with many valuable benefits for more than a century. It is the most trusted name in roadside assistance, and its travel, insurance, and financial solutions are also a reliable source of peace of mind.
