How to assemble lithium battery pack?

Lithium iron phosphate battery, also called Lifepo4 Battery.

Lithium iron phosphate battery has become the easiest and most popular battery to be used.

In order to save costs, we usually choose to buy some lithium battery cells and assemble them ourselves. How to successfully assemble the lithium battery pack? Let's take a look.

 

1. Each battery shall be separated by an epoxy board cut appropriately (the epoxy board shall be resistant to high temperature and not conductive).

 

2. Stick the epoxy board and the electric core together with double-sided adhesive tape (two millimeters for one side and no thickness for the other side).

 

3. Bind the electric core with corrugated tape.

 

4. Measure the hole pitch and make the connecting piece, and install it.

 

5. Weld the equalizing harness of the protection plate on the connecting piece.

 

6. Install and connect the harness according to the order of the protective plate harness.

 

7. Measure harness voltage.

 

8. Connecting wires connecting positive and negative electrodes.

 

9. After the battery is assembled, touch the pole and test whether it is hot.

 

10.Connect the inverter to use power normally.

1. Improvement of safety performance

The P-O bond in lithium iron phosphate crystal is stable and difficult to decompose. Even at high temperature or overcharge, it will not collapse and generate heat like lithium cobalate or form strong oxidizing substances, so it has good safety.

It is reported that in actual operation, a small number of samples were found to burn in the acupuncture or short circuit experiment, but no explosion occurred. In the overcharge experiment, a high voltage charge that was much more than several times of its own discharge voltage was used, and explosion was still found.

 

Nevertheless, its overcharge safety has been greatly improved compared with ordinary liquid electrolyte lithium cobalate battery.

 

2. Improvement of service life

Lithium iron phosphate battery is a lithium ion battery using lithium iron phosphate as cathode material.

The cycle life of long-life lead-acid battery is about 300 times, and the maximum is 500 times. The cycle life of lithium iron phosphate power battery is more than 2000 times, and the standard charging (5-hour rate) can reach 2000 times. The lead-acid battery of the same quality is "new half year, old half year, and maintenance half year", which is only 1~1.5 years at most. However, the theoretical life of lithium iron phosphate battery under the same conditions will reach 7~8 years.

In comprehensive consideration, the performance price ratio is theoretically more than 4 times that of the lead-acid battery. High current discharge can quickly charge and discharge at high current of 2C. Under the special charger, the battery can be fully charged at 1.5C within 40 minutes of charging, and the starting current can reach 2C, while the lead-acid battery has no such performance.

 

3. Good high-temperature performance

The electrothermal peak value of lithium iron phosphate can reach 350 ℃ - 500 ℃, while lithium manganate and lithium cobalate are only about 200 ℃. The working temperature range is wide (- 20C -+75C), and lithium iron phosphate has high temperature resistance. 4. Large capacity

It has greater capacity than ordinary batteries (lead acid, etc.). The monomer capacity is 5AH-1000AH.

When rechargeable batteries work under the condition that they are always fully charged, their capacity will quickly fall below the rated capacity. This phenomenon is called memory effect. For example, NiMH and NiCd batteries have memory, while lithium iron phosphate batteries have no such phenomenon. No matter what state the battery is in, it can be used as soon as it is charged, without having to discharge before charging.

 

6. Light weight

The volume of lithium iron phosphate battery with the same specification and capacity is 2/3 of that of lead-acid battery, and the weight is 1/3 of that of lead-acid battery.

 

7. Environmental protection

The battery is generally considered to be free of any heavy metals and rare metals (nickel metal hydride battery requires rare metals), non-toxic (SGS certification passed), pollution-free, in line with European RoHS regulations, and an absolute green battery certificate.

Therefore, the reason why lithium battery is favored by the industry is mainly due to environmental protection considerations. Therefore, the battery has been included in the "863" National High tech Development Plan during the "Tenth Five Year Plan" period, becoming a key project supported and encouraged by the state.

 

8. Comparison of power battery

At present, the cathode materials that are most promising to be used in power lithium-ion batteries mainly include modified lithium manganate (LiMn2O4), lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) and nickel cobalt lithium manganate (Li (Ni, Co, Mn) O2) ternary materials.
