What Is The Importance Of Wildlife In The World?

Do you like to spend time in nature? Do you also love to appreciate whatever mother nature has bestowed upon us? Do you enjoy how plants and animals are growing and frolicking in the laps of nature? If yes, you probably know that wildlife is important. As responsible citizens of this world, we should do our bit to protect wildlife so that we can reap the benefits that come from them.

For example protecting the nature will ensure that we continue enjoying our wildlife & whale watching in Vancouver Island. Let us see some more benefits of wildlife that we are enjoying in our day-to-day life.

Wild Life – what is it?

Wild animals are those that are not domestic at all. These animals cannot be domesticated at all. You can find wild animals in every country in the world. From lions, tigers, eagles, and even butterflies, you get to see a variety of them.

The term wildlife is not just for animals but it is broadly used for all the organisms that grows or lives wild in an area without being introduced by humans. As a result, wildlife also includes plants, fungi, and other microorganisms that live in their natural environment being undisturbed by the humans.

Wildlife exists all over the world and as one-third of the earth’s land is covered by forests; they offer a habitat for most of the wildlife of this world.

Wildlife is also a part of our natural heritage because they play an important role in maintaining healthy ecosystems and offer many advantages to humans such as food, esthetics, research opportunities, and more.

Our planet consists of a natural ecosystem made with a complex system of interaction between different species. It is a cycle of interaction where each element has a role to play. The loss or decline of a single species has the potential to disrupt the entire system and can post long-lasting consequences for other species in the region.

The consequences are not limited to the wildlife but it is also visible in the lives of humans, who also depend on healthy ecosystems for food, clean air and water, medicines and shelter. We are hardly aware of the number of species present on earth and how they interact with each other. Scientists have estimated that more than 91% of the marine species are yet to be discovered.

Thus, wildlife is an integral part of our lives. We are fortunate that we can take wildlife and whale watching tours in Vancouver Island.
