A Journey to the Top of the UAE

Jabal Al Jais in Ras Al Khaimah, which is one of the seven emirates within the UAE It is located at 1,650m high, and is an ideal day trip for families dubai desert safari. The journey from Dubai takes about one hour and a half and once you begin the climb, it will take about 30 minutes to reach the top. There is no need for a 4x4 to reach the top There were plenty of cars tackling the climb along with us, however make sure you have a full tank. Out Ford Explorer took us up quite comfortably.

The hairpin-like bends that are sharp and the twisting roads can cause you to feel a little dizzy if you're new to such things however, there are many places where you can take some time out, take in some fresh air, and take some amazing photos. There are many mountain goats, and they're accustomed to humans, judging through their jovial way of life.

The road eventually comes to an end just prior to the summit, and you are able to complete the remainder of the climb by the foot. It is possible to take the road that is uncut up the mountainside or the well worn road if you're less adventurous. We didn't go up the mountain this time, but we'll be back to go back in winter to soak on the snow and enjoy the cool winter air. It's been awhile since we put on our winter coats!

Jabal Jais is being developed to be a tourist destination. Roads are being built all up to the top however, it could take some time to complete. There is a toilet on the top, as well as there is a tea shop, in which you can purchase hot tea and coffee cold drinks, biscuits and water. If you're there on a weekend, you should be ready for a crowds and waits for your hot cup of culpa. It is best to keep yours in a flask along with food items and an outdoor mat.

What is a better place to have an outdoor picnic? The drive is sure to make you hungry. Although the mountains are rugged and there isn't a single speck of green however, the views are breathtaking. In winter the weather can be chilly, with hail, snow, and temperatures drop to minus-zero. If you are in the UAE you should visit both the winter and summer months. We visited this week (mid-March) and the temperature fell to around 15 degrees at the highest point. It was about 20 degrees at the base of the mountain.

Take sturdy footwear and an extra jacket. The wind chill level all the way to April could cause it to be quite cold. You'll enjoy the drive and the photos you snap. Make sure you take your selfie or group photo with the stunning mountains as evidence that you were in the top region in the UAE.
