Identity Proof

Age Proof

Marriage Certificate


If the marriage is solemnized in a religious ceremony, the couple must obtain a marriage certificate from the religious institution where the marriage took place. If the marriage is solemnized under the Special Marriage Act, the couple does not need to obtain a separate marriage certificate. The certificate issued by the Marriage Officer is considered a

valid proof of marriage.


Divorce Decree


If either the bride or groom was previously married and the marriage ended in divorce, the divorce decree must be submitted as proof of the termination of the previous marriage. The divorce decree is issued by the court where the divorce was granted.


Death Certificate


If either the bride or groom was previously married and the spouse passed away, a death certificate must be submitted as proof of the termination of the previous marriage. The death certificate is issued by the municipality where the death was registered.


Passport Size Photographs


The bride and groom must submit two passport size photographs each. The photographs must be recent and should have a white background.


Witnesses


Two witnesses are required for marriage registration. The witnesses must be over 18 years old and have their identity and address proof documents.


Additional Documents for NRI and Foreign Nationals


If the bride or groom is an NRI (Non-Resident Indian) or a foreign national, some additional documents are required for marriage registration. These documents are:


  1. Valid Passport
  2. Valid Visa
  3. Proof of Residence Abroad
  4. No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the concerned embassy or consulate
  5. Certificate of Eligibility to Marry
