Admire your clean countertops (and save money!) thanks to these homemade cleaning solutions to make yourself with products that you already have in your kitchen. Keeping your kitchen clean is no small feat – you spend hours scrubbing, wiping and tidying up. It would be a shame to add to that industrial household products, generally full of chemicals and harmful.

1. BAKING SODA FOR KITCHEN UTENSILS

- What use?

In the kitchen, baking soda is your best ally. It is a particularly effective element when tackling the embedded and burnt-on grease on your cookware.

- How to do?

Make a paste using 100g of baking soda and a few tablespoons of water.

- How to use it?

Rub! You can dilute the paste in water and soak your pans and gratin dishes. Baking soda is also great for removing stains and odours from your microwave.

2. TEA BAGS TO CLEAN THE FLOORS

- What use?

Black tea effectively cleans brown and dark floors while restoring their shine.

- How to do?

Infuse a few black tea bags in 50 cl of hot water. Then pour it into a spray bottle.

- How to use it?

Spray on the parquet and watch it shine! Wipe the parquet with a rag if the floor is too slippery.

3. LEMON JUICE TO GET RID OF STAINS

- What use?

Lemon is an excellent disinfectant and natural stain remover due to its acidity. In addition, it leaves a pleasant smell of citrus fruits and freshness in your home.

- How to do?

Cut half a lemon and sprinkle salt on one half.

- How to use it?

Rub the part with the salt on your wood cutting board to erase stains and kill stubborn germs. What should I do with the other half of a lemon? Use the juice to make lemonade and savour it while admiring the work.

4. VINEGAR AS A KITCHEN CLEANING SOLUTION

- What use?

Vinegar loosens and cleans grime like a pro.

- How to do?

Mix equal parts water and white vinegar in a spray bottle.

- How to use it?

Spray the mixture in your fridge, freezer, or cutting board, rub, and then wipe. You can keep your food in a clean fridge without chemicals. You can also add essential oils (grapefruit or tea tree) to make your blend smell nicer. White vinegar is also beneficial for cleaning your pipes or stainless steel utensils.

5. COOKING OIL FOR MELTING

- What use?

Olive oil, vegetable oil or rapeseed oil are ideal for fighting against the oxidation of cast iron and maintaining it (and yes, we do not soak cast iron in soapy water).

- How to do?

Coat your pan with oil (the equivalent of a teaspoon) after eliminating the excess water.

- How to use it?

Place the skillet over high heat. Rub and wipe off the oil with a paper towel. When the pan begins to smoke, remove the oil residue. Let the pan cool, and you're done!
