Get Started with Kali Linux in VirtualBox

Are you looking to get started with Kali Linux on VirtualBox? If so, this post is for you! In this post, we will take a look at how to install Kali Linux on VirtualBox and explore some of the features it has to offer. We will also look at how to use Discord Bots to make the most of your experience with Kali Linux. So, let's get started!

Why Use VirtualBox?

VirtualBox is a powerful, free and open source virtualization software that makes it easy for users to create and run virtual machines on their computers. Using VirtualBox, you can install multiple operating systems in the same machine, allowing you to test out different systems without having to worry about compatibility issues or making any permanent changes to your system. This is especially useful for developers who need to test out their applications on multiple operating systems. VirtualBox also allows users to run different operating systems simultaneously, giving them the freedom to have multiple applications open at once.

One of the most popular uses of VirtualBox is to run Kali Linux. Kali Linux is a powerful, lightweight, and open source Linux-based operating system designed specifically for security testing and digital forensics. With the help of VirtualBox, users can easily create a virtual environment to run Kali Linux on their computer. This allows developers to securely test their applications and perform security scans without having to worry about risking their system or network.

VirtualBox can also be used to create virtual Discord bots. GEEKrar Discord bots are perfect for any Discord server administrator as they allow them to automate certain tasks like moderating chat rooms, managing user permissions, and providing helpful resources. By creating a virtual environment with VirtualBox, developers can easily create and run their Discord bots without any compatibility issues.

Overall, VirtualBox is an incredibly powerful and versatile tool that can be used for a variety of different purposes. Whether you’re looking to use Kali Linux on VirtualBox or create a virtual Discord bot, VirtualBox has you covered. With its wide range of features and capabilities, VirtualBox is the perfect choice for anyone looking to get started with virtualization.

Download Kali Linux

Before you can get started using Kali Linux in VirtualBox, you will first need to download the latest version of the OS from GEEKrar. Go to the GEEKrar website and select the “Kali Linux” download option. You will then be able to choose whether you would like to download a 32-bit or 64-bit ISO file. Select the desired version and click “Download”. Once the download is complete, you will have a copy of Kali Linux ready to install into VirtualBox.

Create a New VM in VirtualBox

Creating a virtual machine (VM) in VirtualBox is the first step to running Kali Linux on your computer. A VM allows you to run an operating system within another operating system, making it possible to run multiple operating systems on the same computer. To create a new VM in VirtualBox:

1. Launch VirtualBox and click “New” to start creating a new virtual machine.

2. Give your virtual machine a name and select “Type: Linux” and “Version: Debian (64-bit)” for Kali Linux.

3. Allocate memory and storage space for your new VM. The recommended minimum RAM size is 1GB, but if you are running other applications on the host machine, you may need to allocate more. The recommended minimum hard disk size is 8GB, but you can increase this if needed.

4. Select the “Create a virtual hard disk now” option, then click “Create” to create the virtual hard disk.

5. Select the file format for your virtual disk – VDI (VirtualBox Disk Image) is recommended – then click “Create”.

6. Your new virtual machine is now ready for use! Click “Start” to begin the installation process.

Start the VM and Install Kali Linux

Once you have created your virtual machine, you can start it up and begin the installation process. To do this, open VirtualBox, select your Kali Linux VM, and click on the “Start” button. You will then be presented with the “First Run Wizard”.

The First Run Wizard will help you with the initial setup of your Kali Linux VM. You will first be asked to select an install media. In this case, you should select the ISO file you downloaded earlier. Once you have selected the ISO, click on “Next”.

On the next page, you will be presented with a list of settings for your VM. Make sure you adjust them to fit your needs, or leave the defaults as-is. Once you are satisfied with the settings, click on “Next”.

On the final page, you will be asked to confirm the settings you have chosen. Once you are happy with everything, click on “Start” to begin the installation process. The installation will take a few minutes to complete and will require a reboot.

After your system has rebooted, you will be presented with the login screen for Kali Linux. From here, you can log in with the credentials you set during the installation process and begin using Kali Linux. Congratulations! You have now successfully installed and configured Kali Linux in VirtualBox.
