MBT Coupler | Bar Bolted Coupler | Bolt Coupler

MBT couplers require neither bar end preparation to form threads nor bar rotation to effect installation. The bars are supported within the coupler by two serrated saddles. As a series of lock shear bolts are tightened to a predetermined torque, they are embedded into the bar. At the same time, the saddles bite into both the bar and the shell of the coupler. Installation is complete when the heads of all of the bolts are sheared off. The lock shear bolts on sizes 10mm to 20mm can be tightened using a ratchet wrench. For larger sizes, a nut runner is recommended. Impact tools must not be used. MBT couplers can be used to join imperial, plain round, or deformed reinforcing bars. We have dealers across Mumbai, Pune, Kolhapur, Solapur Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Raipur, Kota, Udaipur, Rourkela, Patna, Indore, Vijayawada, Vizag, Chennai, Kolkata, Surat, Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Mysore, Hubli, Mangalore, Gadag Chittoor, etc.

Lapping is not appropriate for connecting the TMT bar. Lapping can consume more time in installation & also cause greater congestion in concrete because a large amount of TMT bar is used.

Surya Engineering simplifies the design of MBT Coupler for the construction of reinforced concrete. This will reduce the number of required rebars.

Lapping is dependent on concrete for transferring a load, for this reason, degradation in the integrity of the concrete could affect the performance of the joints. The strength of MBT Coupler joints is independent of the concrete in which it is located, this MBT coupler retains its strength without losing cover which will result in impact damage or seismic.

MBT Couplers are easy to install and achieve failure loads higher than 115% of the characteristic yield strength of the grade 500 TMT bar. Neither bar end preparation to form threads, nor bar rotating is required. MBT couplers can also be used to join imperial, plain round, or deformed reinforcing bars.

These TMT bars ends are supported by two serrated saddles, and the lock shear bolts are tightened. The lock shear bolts of couplers up to and including the bolts can be tightened using a ratchet wrench. For larger couplers, a nut runner is recommended.
