Indonesia is a paradise for underwater tourism lovers. The diversity of species and coral reefs attract tourists to Indonesia.

Recently, the international site published the 10 best diving destinations in the world. Five of them come from Indonesia, namely Pulau Weh diving, Derawan in East Kalimantan, Raja Ampat in West Papua, Komodo Island in East Nusa Tenggara and Tulamben in Bali.

1. Derawan in East Kalimantan

Derawan has become a sought after destination not only for foreign tourists, but also for domestic tourists, especially for lovers of the underwater world. The diversity of marine life, white sand and the clarity of the water make this place a favorite.

Derawan itself is home to several types of sharks. Here tourists can find at least 460 types of coral, and more than 870 types of fish. Starting from dwarf seahorses to giant mantas.

If you are lucky, tourists can see a group of mantas passing by while you are diving. Apart from diving, tourists can also witness the sight of turtles laying their eggs on the beach, because this place is also home to rare green turtles and hawksbill turtles.

2. Raja Ampat in West Papua

This island is the best destination for diving in Indonesia, with amazing underwater views, a diversity of fish and a variety of coral reefs. Several scientific surveys reveal that Raja Ampat has 603 coral species representing more than 75 percent of the world's species. With a rich ecosystem and abundance of species, Raja Ampat is Indonesia's coral triangle. Several dive sites in Raja Ampat can provide interesting experiences. GPS Point, located in the northeast of Gili Banta Island, 10 kilometers northeast of Komodo, the famous GPS Point is considered to be the best diving spot in the north of Komodo. 4.Tulamben in Bali.

Excellent diving spots in Tulamben, Bali are in the shipwreck area (USAT Liberty Cargo), Paradise Reef and Drop Off (a really rough wall). This area is the best scuba diving location in all of Bali.


5. Sabang, Aceh

Sabang, Aceh Sabang is one of the administrative regions in Indonesia and is one of the cities at the westernmost tip of Indonesia. Sabang at the tip of Indonesia has several small islands around it that are interesting to visit.

One of the popular marine tourism attractions there is Pulau Weh Sabang. Apart from that, there are also several islands around Pulau Weh such as Rubiah Island, Seulakom Rondo, and Klah.
