Outnumbered does not equal victory...Daegu-Nam wins despite being sent off

There were a series of matches in the Korean Football League (K League) on Sunday that saw teams with numerical advantages suffer defeats due to opponent sending-offs.

Suwon Samseong lost 0-1 at home to Daegu FC in the 30th round of the Hana OneQ K League 1 2023 at Suwon World Cup Stadium, 스포츠토토 leaving them in 12th place in the league.

Suwon missed chances to win the game. In the 12th minute of the second half, with the score tied at 0-0, Daegu central midfielder Beltola swung an elbow at Suwon's Werikpopo, earning him a direct red card.

With the numerical advantage, Suwon looked to score, but the Daegu goal was not open. Suwon's attack was blunt. Luck was not on their side. In the 36th minute of the second half, Mulicic's powerful free kick went straight into the arms of goalkeeper Choi Young-eun.

Despite being outnumbered, Daegu threatened more often than Suwon. Daegu, who did not back down from their line and faced Suwon, scored the winning goal in the sixth minute of second-half stoppage time. Vasellus dribbled past Lee Kyu-suk, who had suffered a leg cramp, and rattled the net with a right-footed shot.

Suwon squandered a chance to tie the game in stoppage time. International Lee Ki-jae sent a pinpoint cross into the box in stoppage time, but shots from Go Myung-seok and Mulicic went wide of the target.

In the second division, it was another game where the team that was outnumbered won.

The Jeonnam Dragons overcame a numerical disadvantage to win 3-2 against Gyeongnam FC in the 31st round of the Hana One Q K League 2 2023 at the Changwon Football Center on Sunday.

Jeonnam found themselves at a numerical disadvantage in the third minute of the second half when the score was 1-1. Asnawi, who had been cautioned for kicking the Gyeongnam goalkeeper in the 15th minute, received a second caution for blocking Gyeongnam's Park Min-seo and was sent off.

Despite the disadvantage, Jeonnam scored two more goals after Asnawi's ejection. Jeonnam took the lead in the 22nd minute of the second half with a goal from Yu Ji-ha on a free kick. In the fifth minute of second-half stoppage time, Lee Yong-jae dribbled past Gyeongnam's Lee Kang-hee and scored a solo goal to make it 3-1.

Jeonnam conceded a late goal from Gyeongnam's Mo Jae-hyun in the seventh minute of second-half stoppage time, but did not concede any more goals to secure the victory.
