If you have a disability, the NDIS is here to help. The NDIS helps participants pursue their goals, whether they’re recreational activities or consistent health monitoring and medication management.
To access ndis assistance with daily living, talk to your LAC or NDIS planner about adding this support to your plan. The NDIS will assess your need on a case-by-case basis and determine if it’s reasonable and necessary.
What is ADL?
Daily living assistance is part of the 'Core' support category in an NDIS plan. This support is a key component of helping participants live more independently at home and in their community.
The NDIS has given countless people with disabilities more control over their lives. This includes being able to select and implement their own support services. But it also means that the level of daily assistance with daily living ndis required can change at any time.

At Royal Care, we help participants manage their day-to-day activities by offering a range of services. This includes coordinating appointments, assisting with shopping, and providing transport support. We also provide support with recreational activities, and assist participants to follow a healthy lifestyle through consistent health monitoring and medication management.
Mobility
Mobility is the overall range of motion a person has within their body, most notably their joints. It’s a common phrase thrown around by trainers and physical therapists, but it can be applied to all areas of life. You have great mobility on the basketball court if you can squat deeper and run faster, but it also refers to upward movement from one social or economic level to another. Examples would include moving from a bed to a chair or into a wheelchair.
Toileting
Toileting is a very personal and intimate act that many people take for granted. As a caregiver, you must be sensitive to your loved ones’ feelings around this area. Some claimants who require assistance with toileting can feel a sense of loss of privacy and dignity. This can also curtail social outings and other activities they used to enjoy.
Depending on the situation, toileting may include assisting to and from the bathroom, transferring on and off a toilet, commode, bedpan or urinal, using incontinent briefs, cleaning an individual after toileting, following a schedule for eliminating waste, and management of ostomy and catheters. Also included is showering and bathing.
