The "College Football Win-Win Council," comprised of various soccer stakeholders including the Korea Football Association, the Korea University Football Association, and university leaders, has begun discussing improvements to the player development system and sharing the results of the consultation.

The Korea Football Association said on Thursday that "Chung Mong-kyu, president of the KFA, and Byun Seok-hwa, president of the Korea University Football Association, met at the Jongno-gu Football Hall on the same day and confirmed the results of the college football win-win council discussions."

The College Football Imagination Council, which includes the Korea Football Association, college football leagues, leaders, professional soccer leagues, and outside figures, has held three meetings since its first meeting in April to collect various opinions and discussions between June and September.

The main contents of the college soccer coexistence council are maintaining the under-22 compulsory participation system in K League 1 and K League 2 phasing in the under-21 compulsory participation system in K League 3 and K League 4 (2024-2025) and promoting a plan to shorten the retention period for additional players in the club priority nomination system from three years to two years.

While the compulsory under-22 system in the professional leagues (K League 1 and K League 2) will remain in place, the K3 and K4 leagues have agreed to change the compulsory age from the current 'three players under 21' to 'one player under 22 and two players under 23' in 2024, and to 'three players under 23' in 2025.

"Recently, the college soccer world has been struggling with an increase in the number of younger players entering the professional and semi-professional stages and a decrease in the motivation of older players to continue their careers," said the KFA. "Raising the compulsory playing age will provide more opportunities for late-blooming players to challenge, which is expected to have a positive effect on the operation of college teams."

Regarding the priority nomination system, the KFA will continue to negotiate with the KFA to shorten the additional retention period for youth team players from three years to two years after high school graduation. 카지노사이트존
