Jeju United picked up a point to stay in the top flight. Gwangju FC also picked up a point and moved a step closer to qualifying for the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Champions League Elite (ACLE).

Gangwon defeated Daejeon Hana Citizen 1-0 away from home in the 36th round of the Hana One Q K League 1 2023 at Daejeon World Cup Stadium on Nov. 11.

With the win, Gangwon escaped a five-match winless streak (three draws and two losses) and remained in 11th place with 30 points from five wins, 15 draws and 16 losses. The gap to 12th-place Suwon (26 points) widened to four points, while the gap to 10th-place Suwon FC (32 points) was reduced to two points.

Daejeon, which was unbeaten in six matches (2W, 4D), remained in eighth place with 11W, 14D, 11L, and 47 points with the loss.

Eleventh-ranked Gangwon, who are battling bottom 12 Suwon to avoid automatic relegation to the second tier, looked to score early in the match but were unable to find the back of the net. Wellington, who was rushing forward, tried again with his left foot, but his shot hit the side netting.

The match between Jeju United and FC Seoul at Jeju World Cup Stadium ended in a 0-0 draw.

Jeju remained unbeaten in three matches (W1 D2 L2). They remain in ninth place with 40 points from 10 wins, 10 draws, and 16 losses. The gap between the relegation zone and 10th-place Suwon FC (32 points) has widened to eight points. If Suwon FC wins all three of their remaining matches, they will have 41 points. As such, Jeju only needs two points from their remaining two matches to secure top spot on their own.

Seoul, who were on a two-game winning streak, had to settle for a draw. They remain in seventh place with 54 points from 14 wins, 12 draws and 10 losses.

Daegu snapped a two-game losing streak. They remain in sixth place with 50 points from 12 wins, 14 draws, and 10 losses.

Gwangju, who had just lost to Incheon United, had to settle for a point. They remain in third place with 16 wins, 10 draws and 10 losses and 58 points. To maintain their third place in the league with an ACLE spot at stake, they need to hold off the chase from fourth-placed Jeonbuk Hyundai (53 points) and fifth-placed Incheon United (52 points). Gwangju can qualify for the ACLE in the 2024-2025 season on their own with five points from their remaining two matches.
