Ushering the Way in the Alternative Music Industry - Delphi Ravens

Over the years, the music industry has witnessed varying genres immersed in the passion and creativity of people. This has cemented a diverse foundation for many to enjoy while simultaneously observing the highs and lows of the genres.

Similarly, alternative music is divergent from the other genres in the music industry – widely gaining popularity. The music is not mainstream like other music styles, hence, drawing a distinct comparison, particularly from conventional rock music. Due to its uniqueness, the alternative genre is considered more creative and original while challenging the presence of other popular and mainstream music genres.

The alternative genre entrenches the branches into various types while focusing the fame on Indie music, which is enjoyed by the majority nowadays. According to research, 35% of respondents in the age group 18 – 29 years listen to alternative indie music, with an increasing number obtained in the age group 30 – 49 years (43%) and 50 – 64 years (53%), respectively.

In a span of forty years, indie rock music has transitioned from being an unknown terminology to entering the phase of a music revolution – establishing a loyal fan base – for a good reason. With the rise of alternative indie music, Delphi Ravens, an American Indie rock band, has ushered its way into the music industry by gaining incredible success in just a few years.

The band has been operating in southern Oregon, US, for three years – a hub of American independent music with a strong, established foundation of indie music. The music produced combines alt-rock with other musical styles to give a unique style.

As the band proudly claims,

“We aren't vanilla or chocolate but a unique blend of musical flavors.”

The foundation of the band was established in 2019 by bassist and songwriter Stephen Andrew Burgess, who is also known as Papa B™. The band shares its origins in the Pacific Northwest and treasures a rich history of music. The current band members include Kira (Lead vocalist), Papa B (Founder and Bassist), Piero (Lead guitarist), Aiden (Rhythm guitarist), and Brandon (Drummer).

The songs produced by the band include “Insomnia” – 2023, “EP Sensations” – 2023, “Burn at Both Ends” – 2023, “Between the Lines” – 2023, “Only You Can Save Me” – 2022, “Take My Hand” – 2022, “Skeletons” – 2022, “Red to Black” – 2022, “Last Memories” – 2022, “Justify” – 2022, “Cheap Coffee” – 2021, “Phobia” – 2021, “Always in the Way” – 2021, “How Wrong You Were” – 2021, “Delphi Raven” – 2021, and “Hardest Goodbye” – 2021.

In order to strengthen foundations in the uncertain music industry, the band sought to record fifteen new tracks in 2021-2023, which were also presented in their live performances. Among those songs, two of the initial three releases scored in the Top 20 on the list of Top 100 Alternative Music Chart at Hypeddit. Their released songs gained over 30,000 followers along with reaching 100,000+ Spotify streams.

Furthermore, the song “Hardest Goodbye” gained popularity and was ranked #2 in the list of Top 100 Hypeddit Charts. Due to the recognition, the song was also incorporated into the TV series Nate & Laura & How They Met.

Persistent efforts to stay ahead of the competition are required when operating in the music industry. With the production of unique songs, the band was twice recognized as the Artist of the Month by MTV Rocks and achieved the rank of the #1 Alternative Rock band in the region of the Pacific Northwest as well as in the Top 30 in the United States by ReverbNation.

Delphi Ravens, in 2023, was featured by 3,600+ radio stations, achieving increased exposure and accolades. The band has been compared to artists like Evanescence, Deftones, Fleetwood Mac, and Foo Fighters. “Our music is emotion driven-coming from our own life experiences. We explore anger, fears, disappointments, relationship breakups, substance abuse and its impact, animal cruelty, love, sadness from great loss, self-worth, disgust, and other themes,” asserted the artists.

The band’s fan base includes Sony music SVP Jennifer W., rappers like Whiz Kid and Fat Joe, Finnish stars Katja and HISQ, country star Whythouse, and over a thousand artists from Canada, the UK, the US, and Europe.
