A Hanwha official announced on the 5th, “We will broadcast live the Blue and White match to be held at Hanwha Life Eagles Park in Daejeon at 1 p.m. on the 7th through the club’s YouTube channel ‘Eagles TV.’”

It is quite unusual to broadcast the Blue and White match ahead of an exhibition game live, as there were many requests from baseball fans to see Ryu Hyun-jin's first pitch in Korea after returning after 12 years.

In general, unlike the exhibition games that are officially scheduled before the start of the KBO League, spectator admission is restricted to the Blue and White match. As Daejeon Hanwha Life Eagles Park is currently undergoing some construction, the Hanwha team decided not to welcome spectators to the Blue and White match due to concerns about safety issues.

Because of this, the voices of baseball fans demanding to see Ryu Hyun-jin's pitching became louder.

A Hanwha official said, “After Ryu Hyun-jin’s pitching schedule was confirmed, numerous baseball fans requested a broadcast of the Blue and White match. Accordingly, the club decided to broadcast live with its own equipment,” he said.

Ryu Hyun-jin, who played in the Major League Baseball (MLB) for 11 years from 2013 to last year, returned to Hanwha at the end of last month with an eight-year contract and a total of 17 billion won, receiving the highest treatment ever.

Ryu Hyun-jin, who has been building his body through individual exercise, prepared for the season smoothly after joining the Hanwha team. He pitched two bullpen pitches in the Okinawa camp, and did live pitching on the last two days, throwing 65 pitches.

Ryu Hyun-jin, who finished the camp, will pitch domestically for the first time since his return through the Cheongbaek match. It has been 12 years since the regular season game against Nexen Heroes (now Kiwoom) on October 4, 2012, when he climbed the mound at Daejeon Stadium. Ryu Hyun-jin is scheduled to undergo a final inspection by playing in two exhibition games, against the Daejeon KIA Tigers on the 12th and against the Lotte Giants in Sajik on the 19th.

Afterwards, Ryu Hyun-jin will appear in the regular season opening game against the LG Twins held at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul on the 23rd.
