'Mustache Caddy' Cowan ends 25 years with Furyk

World Champions Cup Set to Debut at The Concession | Pro Golf Weekly

Jim Furyk (USA) and Mike Coan, who had the longest relationship as a player and caddy on the PGA Tour, are breaking up.

Golf Channel reported on the 3rd (Korean time) that Cowan said, "I have decided to part ways with Furyk on good terms."

Cowan has been carrying Furyk's bag since the 1999 Masters.

He was the player and caddy who worked together for the longest time on the PGA Tour.

Cowan shared 14 of Furyk's 17 wins on the PGA Tour, including the 2003 U.S. Open.

Even after Furyk moved to the senior tour stage in 2020, he shared three wins.

“My most memorable memories are winning the 2010 FedEx Cup and the 2003 U.S. Open,” Cowan said.

Cowan, famous for his mustache, was Tiger Woods (USA)'s caddy when he debuted on the PGA Tour. When Woods first won the Masters in 1997, he took off the bag.

When Woods hired Steve Williams as his caddy, Cowan became Furyk's caddy, and he has been assisting Furyk ever since.

Cowan and Furyk broke up because Furyk, who earned less money than a PGA Tour player due to playing in the Senior Tour, recommended that he work as a caddy for a PGA Tour player.

Additionally, Furyk has not been able to properly participate in the senior tour due to injury these days.

Cowan expressed his affection for Furyk, saying, "Furick had my back to the point where I joked, 'If you don't leave, I'll fire you first.' If Furyk is needed, I'll go back anytime."

Cowan is scheduled to return to the PGA Tour as a caddy for CP Fan (Taiwan), who has requested to be his exclusive caddy.

Cowan frequently appeared at PGA Tour events as CP's temporary caddy. 고스톱
