Amaravati ORR : Complete Project details & Latest news 2024

The  Andhra Pradesh capital region is poised for a transformation, and at the heart of this change lies the ambitious  Amaravati Outer Ring Road (ORR) project. This 6-lane, greenfield expressway promises to be more than just a bypass. Lets have complete look in to Project details

Amaravati Outer Ring Road(ORR) Latest news:

The central government has pledged to fund the entire construction cost, including land acquisition, for a major infrastructure project estimated to cost nearly ₹25,000 crore. This substantial investment will facilitate the construction of the Amaravati Outer Ring Road (ORR), designed as a six-lane, access-controlled expressway with service roads on both sides, expanding to a total width of 150 meters.

Streches up to 189 kilometers, the ORR will be developed under the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) in the Krishna and Guntur districts. Back in January 2018, the projected construction cost was around ₹17,761.49 crore, with an additional ₹4,198 crore allocated for acquiring over 3,404 hectares of land. However, considering inflation and the time elapsed, the total project cost is now anticipated to exceed ₹20,000 crore, potentially reaching ₹25,000 crore, inclusive of land acquisition costs.

·        Enhanced Logistics: The expressway will facilitate the efficient movement of goods, boosting trade and industrial development.

Challenges and Considerations

Despite the promising outlook, challenges remain:

·        Land Acquisition: Securing land for such a large-scale project can be a lengthy and complex process. Negotiations with landowners and fair compensation are crucial.

·        Environmental Impact Assessment: A thorough environmental impact assessment (EIA) is essential to minimize the project’s ecological footprint. Sustainable construction practices will be necessary.

·        Funding: While the central government has shown initial support, securing complete funding might require further planning and collaboration between state and central authorities.

Real Estate Investment: A Calculated Decision

The  Amaravati ORR has the potential to significantly impact the real estate market in the capital region. However, investment decisions require careful consideration:

·        Project Timeline Uncertainty: Delays in finalizing the DPR and land acquisition can impact the pace of development in specific locations.

·        Strategic Location Matters: Areas with easy access to the ORR and existing infrastructure are likely to see the most significant development .

·        Focus on Sustainability: Sustainable development practices will be an essential factor for attracting residents and businesses.

Conclusion

The ORR  Amaravati project is a monumental step forward for the CRDA, promising to transform the region into a megacity with enhanced connectivity, industrial growth, and economic development. As construction progresses, the ORR will play a crucial role in shaping the future of  Amaravati, driving urban expansion, and improving the quality of life for its residents.
