Get Assistance with FSSAI License Application in Delhi

Introduction:

All Delhi-based food businesses must obtain a Food License, also known as a registration from the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI). The Food Safety and Standard (FSS) Act of 2006 created the FSSAI, an independent organization tasked with regulating and setting standards for food items in India.

Therefore, per the law, FSSAI Basic Registration is required. Anyone wishing to operate a food business must register. This involves cooking and handling food at all the different points before it is finally consumed by the consumer, such as raw materials, manufacturing, processing, messing, canteen packing, distribution, and the organizations with the power to sell it.

The Department of Food Safety is responsible for putting the rules and provisions of the FSS Act into action in Delhi. The Delhi Department of Food Safety is headed by the Food Safety Commissioner. The department controls or forbids the production, distribution, selling, and storing of food particles that are unsafe, subpar, or mislabeled.

If the vendor has a registered food license in Delhi, this 14-digit code must be printed on the food item's label during packaging. The food's excellent quality and lack of adulteration are confirmed by this license. Simply, registering a food license in Delhi guarantees that the food satisfies regulatory requirements and is safe for consumption.

Types of FSSAI registration in Delhi:

Based on the yearly turnover and production capacity, Delhi offers three different kinds of FSSAI registration, which are as follows:

If their annual revenue is less than Rs, food business operators (FBOs) must apply for FSSAI Basic Registration using Form-A. 12 lakhs. The Delhi office of the Food Safety Commissioner has authorized this registration.

FSSAI State Registration: FBOs with an annual revenue exceeding Rs. 12 lakhs but less than Rs. 20 crores are required to apply for FSSAI State Registration using Form-B. The Delhi office of the Food Safety Commissioner grants this registration.

FSSAI Central Registration: FBOs with yearly sales greater than Rs. 2 crores are required to submit Form-B applications for FSSAI Central Registration. The Central FSSAI authority grants this registration.
