Principles of Cloud Computing:


1. On-Demand Self-Service: Users can access and provision computing capabilities, such as server time and network storage, as needed without requiring human interaction with each service provider.  


2. Broad Network Access: Capabilities are available over the network and accessible via standard mechanisms that promote use by heterogeneous thin or thick client platforms (e.g., mobile phones, tablets, laptops, and workstations).


3. Resource Pooling: The provider's computing resources are pooled to service multiple consumers using a multi-tenant model, with the physical and virtual resources that are dynamically allocated and then deallocated based on demand from consumers. There is a sense of location independence of the provider's computing resources that the consumer does not control or even necessarily know the exact location.


4. Rapid Elasticity: Capabilities can be elastically provisioned and released in an automated fashion, in some cases by the consumer. Capabilities can be scaled out and in rapidly, sometimes automatically, based on demand.


5. Measured Service: Cloud systems automatically control and optimize resource use by leveraging a metering capability at some level of abstraction appropriate to the type of service (e.g., storage, processing, bandwidth, and active user accounts). Resource use can be monitored, controlled, and reported, providing transparency for both the provider and the consumer of the utilized service.


6. Virtualization: Cloud computing heavily depends on virtualization technologies to dynamically provision and manage computing resources. Virtualization creates multiple virtual machines on a single physical server.


7. Multi-tenancy: The multi-tenant architecture is commonly adopted by cloud providers for sharing both physical and virtual resources of several customers. This would result in efficient usage and reduced cost.


8. Pay-as-you-go: Cloud services are typically billed on a pay-as-you-go basis, meaning that customers only pay for the resources they use. This can be a significant cost savings compared to traditional IT models.


9. Scalability: Cloud platforms can easily scale up or down to meet changing demands. This allows businesses to quickly adapt to changing business needs.


10. Reliability: Cloud providers are often of high redundancy and fault-tolerant, so there is a good chance that their services are always available.


Core principles include on-demand access, shared resources, rapid scalability, and pay-as-you-go pricing. Such principles allow business users to avail flexible IT infrastructure with better efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
