Fitting a brush cutter blade correctly is important for safe and smooth operation. With the right steps, you can install the blade easily at home. Always make sure the brush cutter machine is switched off and the spark plug is disconnected before starting.
Step 1: Lock the Drive Shaft
Place the brush cutter machine on a flat surface. Locate the shaft locking hole near the gear head. Insert the provided Allen key or locking pin into the hole. This will lock the drive shaft and prevent it from rotating during blade fitting.
Step 2: Remove the Existing Head or Nut
If a trimmer head or old blade is already fitted, remove it first. Turn the nut clockwise to loosen it. Most brush cutters have a reverse thread, so it opens in the opposite direction. Remove the nut and take off the head or blade carefully.
Step 3: Place the Brush Cutter Blade
Position the brush cutter blade onto the arbor flange. Ensure the blade sits flat and aligns properly with the center slot. Correct alignment is important for balanced cutting and reduced vibration.
Step 4: Secure the Blade
Place the rider plate and cup over the blade. Fit the nut on top and tighten it by turning it anti clockwise. Use the correct spanner to tighten the nut firmly. Do not overtighten, but ensure it is secure.
Step 5: Final Check
Remove the locking pin or Allen key. Rotate the blade by hand to confirm it moves freely and is well centered. Once checked, reconnect the spark plug. Your brush cutter blade is now properly fitted and ready for use.
