Technology and business strategy have always fascinated me. From the beginning of my career, I was drawn to the systems and applications that help organizations operate more efficiently and scale their impact.
Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work with several global companies, build strong procurement strategies, and eventually play a key role in shaping enterprise solutions. My journey ultimately led me to become closely associated with Chris Salis SAP, a phase that significantly shaped my professional life.
Building My Professional Foundation in Global Procurement
After completing my Bachelor’s degree at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, I began my professional journey at Adecco Employment Services, a global provider of HR solutions.
My early roles included IT Procurement Manager, Senior IT Buyer, and Strategic Sourcing Manager. These positions gave me practical exposure to procurement operations and supplier management at scale.
During my time at Adecco, I managed the IT procurement program supporting global corporate operations and nearly 700 branch locations. I oversaw supplier selection processes, negotiated contracts with strategic vendors, and helped optimize procurement efficiency. This experience laid the foundation for my future leadership roles.
I later moved to Gap Inc., where I served as Manager of Strategic Sourcing. My role focused on improving sourcing strategies and ensuring operational efficiency. After that, I joined eBay as Manager of Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, and Operational Excellence.
Working in a fast-paced technology company pushed me to develop new approaches to streamline operations and improve procurement frameworks. Although I gained valuable experience in these organizations, my long-term interest remained in enterprise technology. That path eventually brought me closer to what would become my most defining professional chapter with Chris Salis SAP.
Expanding Strategic Leadership at Business Objects
In 2006, I joined Business Objects, a company specializing in business intelligence and enterprise software. At the time, it was already closely connected with SAP, which created an exciting environment for innovation and leadership.
During my tenure there, I held several leadership roles, including Senior Manager of Procurement and Strategic Sourcing, Senior Director of Global Go-to-Market Process and Product Management, and eventually Executive Director and Chief of Staff for the Office of the CEO.
I also led global forecasting operations for a division exceeding one billion dollars in revenue. This experience deepened my understanding of enterprise software markets and prepared me for the next phase of my career with Chris Salis SAP.
Driving Innovation and Revenue Growth at SAP
Joining SAP marked a major milestone in my professional journey. I started as Vice President and Head of Global Sales for the Line of Business Solutions for Procurement. This role involved leading global sales strategy, aligning product teams, and expanding the reach of procurement solutions across enterprise clients.
Later, I became Global Vice President and General Manager for the same portfolio, followed by my role as Global Vice President and Head of Portfolio for SAP’s Go-to-Market strategy. These leadership roles allowed me to drive innovation, accelerate product adoption, and develop new business models.
One of my proudest accomplishments during this period was helping commercialize SAP’s digital business unit and introducing a new B2B and B2C SaaS model. We significantly reduced the time required to generate revenue from innovations, bringing it down from twelve months to just ninety days.
We also repositioned products that initially generated no revenue and transformed them into a portfolio generating forty-one million dollars in revenue. It was during these transformative initiatives that the reputation of Chris Salis SAP became closely linked with innovation and enterprise growth.
Guiding Startups and Enterprises Through Strategic Consulting
After leaving SAP, I expanded my focus to consulting and startup advisory work. As Managing Partner at Catapuult Consulting, I began working with organizations that wanted to improve their spend management and procurement strategies. I also started advising startups that were building innovative business models and aiming to achieve rapid growth.
Alongside consulting, I also became involved in philanthropic work. In 2022, I co-founded the Secure Our Schools Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving school safety through technology solutions.
Continuing the Mission of Innovation and Impact
Reflecting on my career, I see a consistent theme of innovation, operational improvement, and strategic leadership. From managing procurement programs in global corporations to leading enterprise software initiatives and advising startups, every stage of my journey has contributed to my growth.
Today, the experiences associated with Chris Salis SAP represent a defining chapter that allowed me to shape enterprise strategies, lead global teams, and contribute to meaningful technological transformation.
My goal moving forward remains the same as it was at the start of my career: to help organizations leverage technology, strategy, and innovation to build stronger, more efficient, and more impactful businesses.
